W. K. Walton moved to the Redland in 1912 and purchased the homestead of Otho Heath in June of that year. He went on to build the Walton House north of Biscayne Drive on Redland Road, which is a popular place for weddings. Walton was a grove developer and a nurseryman and was very influential in agricultural and civic affairs in the Homestead area from 1913 up until his death.
